“衣衣不捨” Eco-Friendly Fashion Design Competition Grand Finals

    2024-07-15

The “衣衣不捨” Eco-Friendly Fashion Design Competition, organized by HK Electric and the Fashion Design Program of Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi), aims to encourage the public to cherish items and reduce waste. CITA is also one of the supporting organizations. On July 6, CITA Executive Director Man Lau attended the Grand Finals at Central Market to present the prizes to the winners, fully supporting this meaningful event. We sincerely congratulate all the winners and commend their creativity and efforts.

The competition, themed “Sustainable Development,” includes four categories: Parent-Child Group, Secondary School Group, Open Group, and THEi Group. Participants must create at least one set of clothing incorporating elements of environmental protection and sustainability, utilizing the concepts of “recycling” (reusing discarded materials to create raw materials) or “upcycling” (upgrading raw materials, such as creating new designs from leftover fabrics, old clothes, or objects to extend their life). The creations should be innovative and sustainably usable in daily life. Through this competition, we hope to raise public awareness about environmental protection and sustainable development, inspire more creativity, and promote the concept of cherishing items and reducing waste.

Once again, congratulations to the winners and thank you to all participants. Let’s work together for environmental protection and sustainable development!
